Welcome
to my new section Before and After.
I love editing images. A lot of
people call it 'Cheating' but I like to think of it as art ! Being
able to manipulate images is no easy task. It takes a lot of practice,
some good photoshop advice and an eye for what looks right and what
looks over processed. I've picked up these skills over the past
3 years. Thats a long time to learn a trade like this and I'm only
at the beginning of the journey. I'm no pro, far from it. But I
wanted to demonstrate that everyone can do this, with practice and
the right tools.
Slide your cursor over the
image to reveal the original.

This image is from my first portrait
session. The effect you are seeing is called Dior. The tutorial
can be found here.
I wanted to give the image a Hollywood
feel, so I added a bit of shine to the portrait. Kavy is very beautiful
anyway and didn't really need any of this doing. Its just nice to
add a little twist to the image.
It took about 2 hours in all to
update the image. |

Another creation from the portrait
session with Kavy (same session as above). We created several
different looks using hats, makeup, lighting effects etc.
See all of Kavy's images here

But I don't just
manipulate Portraits, I also enjoy tweeking another subjects, this
was taken in an alley at the back of my brothers house.
Kenny is a song writer/
producer (and a very good one at that),we
wanted to try and see if we could come up with something Dark and
mysterious, your typical off the wall DJ / Dance n Trance theme.

Picture taken in llangollen, this
church was just next to the river Dee. I thought it as (Parish Church
of St Collen), but I'm not so sure.
The original image was a disaster,
so I thought I'd apply a new technique I had just picked up from
Digital Photo (magazine). Dodging and Burning they call it.
I think this is really an example
of art. |

This was also taken in llangollen,
but it was around christmas and the station was being used to take
Families off to see Santa. The kids had a great time and I really
enjoyed creating this image.
I'll post some more of my editing
work at a later date. But I hoped you like what I have done so far.
